New Artwork

"Rebirth"  2016
Photographic Composite

This photo composite was a special request for a co-worker. I was asked to do a photo composite that involved lotus flowers. While researching, I learned that one of the symbolic means of a lotus flower was that at night the flower would close up and sink into the water below to be reborn in the day, this was believed to be symbolic for rebirth. My research of the lotus flower inspired this idea, this piece was a lot of fun to make.

Watercolor II class

Finally Completed my Watercolor II class.

For my final project I sketched and idea out of a surreal environment I wanted to paint, when I went out and photographed the elements and scene I needed for my painting. I digital composites the photographs together using Photoshop, and used the digital composite as a visual references to draw and paint from.

Finally done with my Final Photography Class at EMU. :D

For this series, I explored the attributes and characteristics that humans share with animals, within a surreal environment. To create these surrealist images, I go out and photograph the scene, objects, subject, and elements needed.  For the more exotic animals, I photographed realistic toys of that animal. Then, I used Digital Software to combine all the images together by using various tools to create composition, lighting, and perspective. The attributes that I showcase are: language, emotions, memories, problem solving, intelligence, and other characteristics that humans share with animals. Learning about the amazing characteristics of animals changed my perception of them. I feel that they are seen as being less important than man-kind and that by learning about them will show the viewer that they are not that different from us. Through learning about their similarities to us, I want to show the characteristics that connect us with animals. I strongly believe that we are all connected and that we should share the world together. I am hoping that once a viewer sees my work, they will see the connection between us and the animal presented; I hope that they see that animals feel and learn the way we do and that they should be treated with respect and love.

Watercolor Paintings

My Watercolor class at EMU.

"The Fairy of Eagle Nebula : The dust sculptures of the Eagle Nebula are evaporating. As powerful starlight whittles away these cool cosmic mountains, the statuesque pillars that remain might be imagined as mythical beasts. Pictured above is one of several striking dust pillars of the Eagle Nebula that might be described as a gigantic alien fairy. This fairy, however, is ten light years tall and spews radiation much hotter than common fire. The greater Eagle Nebula, M16, is actually a giant evaporating shell of gas and dust inside of which is a growing cavity filled with a spectacular stellar nursery currently forming an open cluster of stars. The above image in scientifically re-assigned colors was released as part of the fifteenth anniversary celebration of the launch of the Hubble Space Telescope."
